“.look quite peachy.”Īlhaitham grumbled, slipping his hands down to Kaveh’s waist slowly, much to Kaveh’s surprise, who had expected a sarcastic remark in return. “You…” Alhaitham’s gaze fell on his lips as the other chewed it nervously. Alhaitham watched blearily as worry washed into Kaveh’s face as he got up from his chair suddenly and strode towards Alhaitham. Kaveh’s head snapped to the side and Alhaitham could swear he saw the other’s eyes soften up when he saw it was him. Was he working at this hour? Alhaitham couldn’t spare any energy to think, and without thinking of any repercussions of his actions, he turned the doorknob. From the other side of the hallway, he could see a faint light from beneath the other’s door. He got off his bed with unsteady legs, scrambling towards the door as he just managed to drag himself to his senior’s room. Amidst his fatigue, he managed to weakly mutter one word: He felt lightheaded and dizzy as he frantically searched the surroundings of his room. He could feel himself choking, almost on the brink of death when–Īlhaitham woke up, heaving his breath between small chokes. He tried to run towards it but the darkness pulled him backwards, downwards like quicksand. Far away, he could see a faint light calling to him, beckoning him to come near. This never ending darkness surrounding him like mist, he could feel the fog blinding his eyes and getting into his lungs. His limbs wouldn’t move, he could only thrash and flail around helplessly like a toddler who couldn’t look after itself.Īlhaitham dreamt of something similar tonight. Ones that would make it harder to breathe, to think. He never dreamt, really, but when he did, he’d have nasty nightmares– ones that would make him stir uncomfortably in his sleep, twisting and turning in his bedsheets as he felt his surroundings grow warmer, more suffocating. The kind of paranoia that creeps into your bones and renders you incapable of any movement.Īlhaitham was only human, he had nightmares. As a human, he felt dread, he felt pain and also immense fear. He has feelings, thoughts of his own ones that sneakily make their way into his mind often, even though he’d locked them away, hidden completely. As much as a superhuman he may seem, Alhaitham is only human.
